About the Certification

Certified Traceable Shrimp™ – Because Transparency Shouldn’t Be Optional

What Is Certified Traceable Shrimp™?

Certified Traceable Shrimp™ is more than a label. It’s a promise. A promise that every shrimp bearing our seal was:

Wild Caught in US waters

Harvested by Certified Shrimpers

Handled With Care & Integrity

Traceable from Dock to Delivery

With one scan of a QR code, customers can see the exact boat that caught their shrimp, when it was harvested, and who caught it — eliminating mystery and restoring trust.

This isn’t just seafood. This is accountability you can taste.

Why We Created It

We didn’t build this because it was easy.

We built it because it was necessary.

For years, we watched hardworking American shrimpers get underpaid and overlooked, while foreign imports flooded the market — many of them farmed in unregulated ponds, peeled by exploited labor, and treated with banned antibiotics before arriving on U.S. shelves.

We asked ourselves a simple question...

What if we could fix it?

What if there was a way to reward honest work, protect public health, and give families a way to know what they were really eating?

That question led to a movement.

And that movement became Certified Traceable Shrimp™.

The Problem with Imported & Untraceable Shrimp

94% of the shrimp consumed in the United States is imported. Let that sink in.

According to the Associated Press, much of that shrimp is peeled by forced labor, including children. It’s often raised in overcrowded ponds, fed antibiotics banned in the U.S., and shipped across oceans with no traceability, no oversight, and no accountability.

Once it hits store shelves or restaurant plates, there’s almost no way to know:

• Where it came from
• How it was caught or raised
• Whether it was safe to eat
• Or who paid the real price

And here’s the worst part:

The system was designed to keep it that way.

The Data They Don’t Want You to See

We didn’t make this up. The truth is hiding in plain sight:

“Shrimp peeled by slaves often ends up in U.S. stores and restaurants”

“Imported shrimp is often treated with antibiotics and mislabeled, study finds”

“Invisible labor, invisible shrimp: The human cost of cheap seafood”

“The FDA tests only 0.1% of imported shrimp for banned drugs”

 There’s a Better Way

Certified Traceable Shrimp™ was created to break the cycle — by shining a light into the darkest parts of the seafood supply chain and offering a better path forward.

We believe:

Shrimpers deserve fair pay.
Families deserve clean, traceable food.
Restaurants deserve to proudly display their sourcing.

And when all three come together under one certification, everyone wins — except the ones who built the broken system.

Know What You’re Eating.

Know Who Caught It.

Choose Certified Traceable Shrimp™.
